Bunt's Motorcycle Company

The Bunt's name goes way back. In the late 1960's John Reed founded Uncle Bunt's Chop Shop. Between 1971 until 1983 and from time to time during that period I worked with John on a variety of projects, most of which were confidential and remain so.

I was once described in a magazine article as being ' John's right-hand man on many prestige projects'. This couldn't be further from the truth. John is, and always has been an individual designer and craftsman. I would be called in if my expertise as a Patternmaker or Modelmaker was required, for a particular project.

When John decided to drop the Bunt's name and take off to the California hills, I took it over with no real idea what I was going to with it.

I still do bike work as part of my overall business but most of it is trade related and therefore confidential. I'm happy to do work for private individuals but I don't try to compete with Custom Shops on price.

I am proud to be a member of the Motorcycle Design Association as an Individual Constultant specialising in the area of styling models and prototyping of parts and complete motorcycles.

Like most people in the Custom Bike building business I have my dream project bike, but like the busy plumber with a leaky tap at home, finding time to work on it is always a problem. But to add to my own discomfort, I've decided to feature the build of it on this website, so that you can return to the site on a regular basis and see how little I've done!

If there's a rich person or a company out there who would like to sponsor it - please get in touch (and don't forget it's tax deductable).
